Scagliola is based on gypsum, rabbit skin glue and powder pigments, all mixed together this 18th century technique preserves colors for hundreds of years and at the same time is one of the most respectful materials with less impact to the environment.
Concrete, sand and colour soils is the base of this old technique. Using a mix of excavated soil with lime and cement in different proportions and “ramming” all the ingredients into molds, make these wonderful tonal lines.
